It’s All In Your Head
Exhibit Overview
A traveling multi-component interactive exhibit about brain science. This 5,000 sq. ft. exhibit had two national tours, with over 12 venues since opening in 1992, and reached over two million people.
IT’S MIND BOGGLING!
It’s All In Your Head explores the workings and structure of the human brain, the most complex mass of living matter on Earth, and uses a combination of multimedia computer displays, videos, models, real brains, and interactive devices, all richly illustrated with large photos and text captions.
The exhibit is divided into four areas:
- The Brain: Control Center of Our Bodies
- How Your Brain Sees, Learns, and Remembers
- What are Brains Made Of? Neurons and How They Work
- How the Brain Changes: In Sickness and in Health
“By deliberately changing the internal image of reality, people can change the world. Perhaps the only limits to the human mind are those we believe in.” ~ Willis Harmon
Explore a 12-times life-size walk-through brain, and 50 hands-on exhibits.
Explore a variety of optical and auditory illusions that reveal how the brain works,
and how it may sometimes be fooled to see or hear things that aren’t really there.
Genetics, disease, physical damage, life experience, the environment, drugs,
and aging can influence and disrupt your brain processes.
