Exhibit Overview
A permanent exhibit featuring the history of satellite, lightning, and Doppler radar. This 1,000 sq. ft. exhibit ran on a computer network, utilized live Internet weather data, and opened in 1995.
WHEN IT RAINS, IT POURS!
The Franklin Institute Weather Center is the only source of up-to-date weather information located in the Delaware Valley. Equipped with NEXRAD Doppler Weather Radar, lightning detection equipment, and the McIDAS weather analysis system, our weather forecasts are detailed, interesting and easy to understand.

Visitors learn about the history and science of radar, along with weather essentials
on three multimedia kiosks. They also can see up to the minute NEXRAD weather
data pulled in from live the Internet.
